Sir:-

With reference to your note of the 21st June last

in regard to the exportation of tin from Singapore and

Hongkong to Japan, I have the honour to state that the

Imperial Government issued a notification on the 5th

instant to the effect that tin and tin manufactured goods

were added to the list of articles mentioned in the

Ordinance No. 22 issued by the Department of Agriculture

and Commerce on the 18th September last, for the exporta-

tion of which the Goverment permission is absolutely

required, and that the above notification entered into

operation on the 15th instant.

I beg to add under authorization of my Government

that they will on no account grant permission to export

any tin manufactured goods as well as tin to any destination

but to Russia and the British Overseas Dominions,
